D-Wave System Documentation¶
Welcome to the D-Wave™ system documentation.
Here you’ll find information about D-Wave’s quantum computers and hybrid quantum-classical solvers, the Leap™ quantum cloud service (including user administration), and a cloud-based integrated development environment (IDE) that you can use to develop applications and submit problems to solvers.
The two main steps of solving problems using quantum computers are to formulate your problem as an objective function (a mathematical expression of the problem to be optimized) and find good solutions by sampling.
Samplers are processes that sample from low-energy states of objective functions. D-Wave provides quantum computers, quantum-classical hybrid samplers, and classical samplers that run in the Leap environment. These compute resources are known as solvers.
Under Solver Docs you can find the following documentation:
Getting Started with D-Wave Solvers: introduction to quantum computing.
Using Leap’s Hybrid Solvers: introduction to Leap’s quantum-classical hybrid solvers.
Solver Properties and Parameters Reference: reference documentation for D-Wave’s solvers.
D-Wave Problem-Solving Handbook: information and references on formulating problems and best practices in quantum computing.
QPU Solver Datasheet: detailed description of D-Wave’s quantum processing units (QPU).
QPU-Specific Characteristics: physical properties and anneal schedules of each QPU available through Leap.
Leap, the quantum cloud service that brings quantum computing to the real world by providing real-time cloud access to D-Wave’s systems, enables you to submit problems to quantum computers, quickly get started writing your quantum applications using a cloud-based IDE, run demos and interactive coding examples, access a community of quantum developers, and administer projects.
Under Leap Docs you can find the following documentation:
Introduction to Leap: introduction to the Leap quantum cloud service.
Leap IDE User Guide: description of Leap’s integrated development environment (IDE) and its configuration.
Administration Guide: description of how project administrators manage access to projects in Leap.
SAPI REST Developer Guide: reference documentation for the Solver API (SAPI) REST interface.
